About Yummefy
Yummefy is a culinary digital community bringing people together through the love of food, one recipe at a time.
Sumeet Nair launched Yummefy in 2017 with an overwhelming urge to bring the best gastronomic journeys to food loving fans. Our story began from a lifetime of exquisite family meals and a chance trip to Chettinad that set him on our current culinary trajectory.
A passion for good food and storytelling are at the heart of Yummefy. We understand that the Yummefy community wants to see content that will not only grab their attention in an instant, but also that can be cherished and enjoyed much after it is over. Like the taste of the chocolate that lingers on in your mouth even after a while.
Whether it’s the quintessential Hyderabadi biryani, the good old Punjabi classic pindi chole, a staple Greek salad, the best hawker centre pad thai, or lost and forgotten recipes from Kashmir, our community will always find the best recipe here to create these dishes at home or explore the wonders of different cuisines from around the world.
We have researched, tried, and tested all our recipes before choosing the best version for you. Some of our recipes date back hundreds of years and have been adapted to work seamlessly for our audience today.
We strive to create a close-knit community of like-minded people sharing their passion for food. It is our aim to propagate the culture of good food and help people make healthier life choices. And we try to achieve this by collecting, curating and creating recipes from all over India and from across the globe, disseminating them through our platforms and documenting them for posterity.
Join us, take a look and cook – it’s that easy!
About Sumeet Nair
Life has been gentle with me! My lovely wife, my two children, and I live on a small urban organic farm in Delhi. We dabble in growing vegetables, wheat occasionally, and other seasonal produce for ourselves. Our farm has become a haven for rescues with 8 abandoned bulls and 9 dogs joining the family.
After over two decades in the rough and tumble of the fashion industry, including setting up the Fashion Design Council of India and planning and executing India Fashion Week, I took a leap into the culinary world by writing and publishing a cookbook, The Bangala Table: Flavors and Recipes from Chettinad in 2014. In 2017, I followed that up by launching yummefy.com, a digital media startup serving up short bite-sized culinary video content. This has meant traveling across India (and some other parts of the world) in search for the best recipes. And, of course, this has allowed me to follow my passion – cooking – as well as feed the family, literally and metaphorically.
