Rotimatic– How to make Rotis with Rotimatic, the automatic roti maker, with a step by step video, recipe and detailed instructions. And the bonus option of ordering a Rotimatic for your home directly from our website at a special discount.
We were excited to receive the Rotimatic from Rotimatic Zimplistic Pte ltd and immediately opened the box to set it up. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a second box with a beautiful wooden bowl, stainless steel tongs, and a cool masala box with a variety of spices that will be put to good use at Yummefy.
We wanted to see how easy it was to make a roti as we had heard that everything happens at the touch of a button. The set up was quick and simple; we connected it to wifi, the Rotimatic app updated the software and, in a few minutes, and we were ready to go. Roti making time!
Ease of Use:
We discovered that the ease of use and convenience factor is amazing! It’s just a matter of filling the 3 containers with whole-wheat flour (atta), water and oil, turning the machine on, making a few choices to customize the roti to your liking, then pressing play and you’re off to the races. After the initial warm up period, a roti emerges every 90 seconds. Rotimatic automatically takes care of the measurement of ingredients (so no measuring needed at all), the kneading of the dough, the rolling out (flattening actually) of the dough into the roti disk, and then heating and puffing up the roti. You can relax, sit back and watch the action, or go about your other work. What’s cool is that you have the option of choosing the thickness, roast level, and the quantity of oil to make your rotis the way you prefer them
The Result:
The rotis that emerge are garam-garam, puffed up, soft and nicely layered. They are, however, not exactly how your nani would have made them – we found them a bit on the thicker side than we make at home…but that was the only downside we could find. And the thought of coming home tired, and getting hot, fresh rotis at the touch of a button is difficult to beat. As mentioned, the convenience factor is what sold us, and we feel that anybody who likes rotis but is pressed for time or doesn’t really want to go through the process of kneading dough, rolling out rotis, and the cooking them, should get a Rotimatic right away.
Rotimatic Does More:
But rotis are not all that the Rotimatic makes. It has settings for making puri and pizza. We have not tried that as yet but will do so soon and will report back on the results.
